The Engler College of Business is pleased to announce that the 2026 Study Abroad trip will be to London England. We visited London previously in 2011 and 2013, and are preparing a culturally significant trip that will be both educational as well as enlightening. Drs. Anne Macy and Nick Gerlich are co-leading the adventure, which is slated for late-May into early-June.
London is an ideal destination for Study Abroad, and is perfect for anyone who has never been out of our country and has concerns about language barriers or other comfort zone factors. It is an easy nine-hour direct flight from Dallas to London Heathrow, and from there we will quickly immerse ourselves in the ground transportation network of the underground Tube, historic London taxis, and walking. We will get around quite handily.

While tour specifics are still in progress, previous trips have included a day-long bus trip to Stonehenge and Bath, along with nearby sites that include Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Hyde Park, Camden Town (birthplace of British punk music), the Tower of London, the Tower Bridge, afternoon tea at Harrods, the first Hard Rock Cafe, the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, a stage performance of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, Shakespear’s Globe Theatre, and the London Eye. Along the way we will apply hands-on learning of distinctly British and global brands, as well as business practices.
In a broader sense we will experience London’s pub culture, embrace the multiethnic diversity that makes London prosper, break the nightlong fast with a full English breakfast, feast on fish and chips, learn all of the different words and phrases specific to British English, venture into the metric system, and carefully learn to cross the street with traffic on the “wrong” side of the road.
That’s a long menu right there, and that’s only the beginning.
For more information and to get on the email list, contact Dr. Macy (amacy@wtamu.edu) and Dr. Gerlich (ngerlich@wtamu.edu). Meanwhile, start studying up on a little US history, as well as the monarchy that governs the United Kingdom. We will no doubt have many interactions with regular citizens, all of whom are fascinated with what life is like in Texas and the broader US. It is the conversations we will have that will leave some of the best memories.
