The Engler Business Ambassadors are undergraduate student representatives who are dedicated to serving and promoting the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business and its constituents. Ambassadors are responsible for leading and engaging students to create community within the college.
During this inaugural year, the Ambassadors have spoken to a variety of groups including future transfer students from area community colleges and families of current Engler College students visiting for Family Weekend. They have provided insight to WT freshmen sharing their experiences and advice. The group has been vital in planning, executing, and providing feedback for new events – Buff Business Network, Coffee & Donuts with Undergraduate Business Programs, and the end-of-year Ice Cream Social.
This group was formed in the Fall of 2021 as part of Undergraduate Business Programs with the goals of involving students in engagement within the College, providing a voice to undergraduate students, and having a student presence at Engler College of Business events at WT and in the community. Four students were selected based on academic performance, extracurricular involvement, faculty input, and responses during an interview process. These students have been able to develop and enhance their skills in leadership, group dynamics, and communication; interact with Engler College of Business administration, faculty, staff, students, and donors; and network and build their professional networks.
The Engler Business Ambassadors meet twice per month. The 2021-2022 Engler Business Ambassadors are:
- Jaxon Bellar, a Senior Management major from Baird, TX
- Jenna Downs, a Senior Accounting major from Amarillo, TX
- Hallie Lackey, a Senior General Business –Entrepreneurship/Small Business specialization major from Canyon, TX
- Carolina Varela Neri, a Senior Marketing major from Dalhart, TX
